In blood-soaked Tudor England, twice married, accomplished, and educated Katherine Parr (Alicia Vikander), reluctantly agrees to become the sixth wife of the tyrannical King Henry VIII (Jude Law). Her consent to marry him carries great personal risk, given that her predecessors are either vanquished, beheaded, or dead. When Henry appoints her as Regent, the nation's ruler during his absence when he departs to fight overseas, he lays a dangerous path for her. Henry's courtiers, suspecting she's sympathetic to radical Protestant beliefs that have taken root in the kingdom and are a threat to their power, scheme against her and cast doubts upon her fidelity to the increasingly ailing and paranoid King. Once Henry returns to England, all hell lets loose and Katherine finds herself under ever-increasing scrutiny and suspicion. Knowing that even a whisper of scandal might lead to her downfall, Katherine must unleash her own scheme to fight for survival!

Many thanks to all who joined us last week for another fun movie night out with Ardingly Films, following our summer break! Fly Me To The Moon - starred Scarlett Johansson, Channing Tatum, Jim Rash, Ray Romano, and Woody Harrelson. It was a stylish romantic comedy set against the high-stakes backdrop of NASA's historic Apollo 11 moon landing. Brought in to fix NASA's public image, sparks fly in all directions as marketing maven Kelly Jones (Johansson) wreaks havoc on launch director Cole Davis's (Tatum) already difficult task. When the White House deems the mission too important to fail, the countdown truly begins!

Many thanks to all who participated in Ardingly Films’ first annual Movie Quiz fundraiser! It was a huge success with 11 teams and a delicious meal provided by Curry Leaf Curry (Look out for their food truck parked in the lay-by near South of England Showground Saturdays 12-5pm). The quiz was won by the team 'Gone with the Biriyani’ followed closely by ‘Clueless’ with just one point less.  

All funds will be reinvested into Ardingly Films and will allow for us to continue to show films at Hapstead Hall and maintain the price of a ticket at the low price of £7. Thank you for your ongoing support!

This wonderful film was based on the #1 New York Times bestselling non-fiction novel written by Daniel James Brown. It's directed by George Clooney and covers the 1936 University of Washington rowing team that competed for gold at the Summer Olympics in Berlin. This inspirational true story follows a group of underdogs at the height of the Great Depression as they are thrust into the spotlight and take on elite rivals from around the world.

Mr James Dickinson spoke on the subject of 'King Henry III and the Battle of Lewes.

A packed house enjoyed the outrageously funny crime drama, 'Wicked Little Letters' film at Hapstead Hall on the evening of Thursday March 28th starring amongst many other well-known actors and actresses, Olivia Coleman, Jessie Buckley and Timothy Spall.

We hope you all enjoyed the film on Thursday 22nd February - the truly heart-warming and inspirational film, 'One Life', starring Sir Anthony Hopkins, Helena Bonham Carter, Johnny Flynn and Jonathan Pryce.

The Great Escaper starring Michael Caine and Glenda Jackson, was shown on Thursday 25th January. We had a good turnout, so thank you for your continued support.

Entry was free to all, many people attended to meet up with friends and check out the stalls with face painting, glitter tattoos and a wealth of crafts, games, and produce.

The final Ardingly film of the year, was The Miracle Club which included a wonderful cast! 

The evening of Thursday 26th October was a fabulous, pinktastic screening of 'Barbie' and we saw why the critics and audiences went wild for this film! 

A great film to start the new season! Film goers joined us on Thursday 28th September, when we screened 'Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny'.  

All were welcome to go and observe the exhibition and judging of “Pure Bred” and “Pet” Guinea Pigs last Sunday at the Hall.

The film was about an ordinary man who passes through life on the sidelines until the day he goes to mail a letter and just keeps walking. 

Our last film in May was 'Allelujah' starring an array of our top actors including Dame Judy Dench, Derek Jakobi, Jennifer Saunders and Russell Tovey. 

Including a FREE live concert and DJ set in the Hapstead Hall on Sunday afternoon.

Our film on Thursday 27th April, was the heartwarming Tom Hanks film ‘A Man Called Otto’.
